ROBIN WRIGHT BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Robin Wright was born on April 8th, 1966 in Dallas, Texas with the birth name Robin Virginia Gayle Wright, born to Freddie Gayle Wright and Gayle Gaston. She was raised in San Diego, California and first became involved in the entertainment industry working as a model in her teenage years. She was even lucky enough to travel to Japan and Paris for some modeling work.
Upon earning her high school diploma, Wright decided to focus on a career as an actress. Her first acting job was an appearance on the television series, "The Yellow Rose" which soon followed with a recurring role on the daytime soap opera, "Santa Barbara", a role for which she received three Emmy Award nominations.
Soon film roles began to follow with appearances on such features as, "The Princess Bride" (1987) narrated by Peter Falk and starring Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin, Fred Savage, Billy Crystal, Carol Kane, Chris Saradon, Christopher Guest and Andre the Giant, "Denial" (1990) also starring Jason Patric, Rae Dong Chong, Barry Primus, Chris Mulkey, Christine Harnos, Elizabeth Bracco and David Duchovny, "State of Grace" (1990) starring Sean Penn, Ed Harris and Gary Oldman, Burgess Meredith, John Turturro and John C. Reilly, "The Playboys" (1992) co-starring starring Albert Finney, Aidan Quinn and Milo O'Shea, "Toys" (1992) starring Robin Williams, Michael Gambon, Joan Cusack, LL Cool J, Donald O'Connor and Jamie Foxx and her most successful role playing the character, Jenny, Tom Hank's girlfriend in, "Forrest Gump" (1994) along with Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson and Sally Field. For her role in this film, Wright received a Golden Globe nomination.

She has married twice, first to, Dane Witherspoon in 1986 however by 1988, this marriage ended in divorce. She then married actor, Sean Penn in 1996, and for awhile was known as Robin Wright Penn, and they have a daughter and son together and remained married until divorcing in 2010.
She remains working in the industry, most recently adding the television credits, "Saturday Night Live' and "House of Cards" to her resume. She has also appeared in the films, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" (2011) starring Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara and Christopher Plummer and soon to release in 2013, "The Congress" co-starring Paul Giamatti, Jon Hamm, Danny Huston and Kodi Smit-McPhee, "Two Mothers" with Naomi Watts and "A Most Wanted Man" starring Rachel McAdams and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Along with her career as an actress, she donates her spare time as a spokesperson for the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America as well as for the Dallas, Texas based non-profit The Gordie Foundation, which is an organization that helps youth develop the necessary skills to avoid the pressures of alcohol and drug abuse in today's society.
