ROBERT CONRAD BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Robert Conrad was born on March 1st, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois with the birth name Konrad Robert Falkowski, born to Jackie Smith. During high school he excelled at basketball as well as football. After high school he went on to study at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
He became involved in entertainment first by singing as a band singer in a number of Chicago hotels during the 1960's. He was then signed to a contract with Warner Brothers Studios. He is most well known for his role as James West in the western tv series, "The Wild Wild West" (1965).
During the early part of his career he was seen on the hit television series, "Hawaiian Eye", "The D.A.", "Baa Baa Black Sheep" portraying the real life World War II hero and Medal of Honor recipient Gregory 'Pappy' Boyington and the highly acclaimed mini-series "Centennial". Along with working as a television actor, he became a well recognized face for commercials for Everready batteries.
Some of his later appearances were on the television series, "High Mountain Rangers" (1988), the television movie, "Anything to Survive" (1990) and in 2000 he became the host of, The History Channel's show, "Weapons At War" and also hosted a weekly radio show on CRN Digital Talk Radio. His final role was in 2002 in the film, "Dead Above Ground".
In 2003 he was convicted of driving under the influence and was sentenced to five years probation, six months of house arrest and lost his drivers license for one year.
Robert Conrad has married twice throughout his lifetime, first to Joan Kenlay whom he wed in 1952 and had five children with before this marriage came to an end in 1977. He then married LaVelda Fann in 1977 and had three more children with her before they decided to divorce in 2010. He currently resides in Bear Valley where he worked for eight years as a deputy sheriff.
