Renee Zellweger ACTOR

Renee Zellweger was born on April 25th, 1969 in Katy, Texas with the birth name Renée Kathleen Zellweger, to parents, Emil Erich Zellweger and Kjellfrid Irene Andreasssen.  She had one brother and went to school at Katy High School.  She was very active in a number of athletic sports and also joined the drama club.
After earning her high school diploma in 1987, she then enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin to study English.  She also took up some acting classes in college and began to realize how much she enjoyed the art of performing.  While in college, she also worked part time as a waitress and even audition for mall parts to try and break in to the industry.  Zellweger actually did a Coors Light beer commercial and even a small extra part in the film, "My Boyfriend's Back".
When she graduated from college, she knew acting would be very difficult to pursue if she moved to Los Angeles, California right away without some more experience.  Therefore, Zellweger began auditioning for more small roles in films and commercials back in Texas so she could add some more experience to her resume.
She worked on such projects as a beef commercial and on such films as, "Reality Bites" (1994), "Empire Records" (1995), "The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (1994) and the film, "Love and a .45" (1994).  It was after she received the role in this film that she felt she was now ready to make the move to Hollywood.
Once Zellweger arrived in Los Angeles, things began to happen quite fast for her.  After being cast in the film, "The Whole Wide World" (1996) she got her biggest career break when she was cast in the film, "Jerry Maguire" (1996) with co star, Tom Cruise.
As her career progressed, she graced the bi screen in feature films such as, "One True Thing" (1998), "Me, Myself & Irene" (2000), "Nurse Betty" (2000), and "Bridget Jones Diary" (2001) which earned Zellweger her first Academy Award nomination.  For her role in this particular film, she had to gain twenty pounds and also learn a British accent.
It did not take too long for her to receive her second Academy Award nomination for her role in the film, "Chicago" (2002) and finally a win in 2003 for her role in, "Cold Mountain" opposite actress Nicole Kidman and Jude Law.
Other recent projects she has been involved in are a sequel to "Bridget Jones Diary", "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" and her voice was also used for the animated film, "Shark Tale" in 2005 and in 2009 she had a cameo role  for the animated film, "Monsters vs. Aliens".
Most recently she has been seen on the big screen in such films as, "Appaloosa" (2007), "My One and Only" (2009) and "My Own Love Song" (2010).
At one point, Zellweger was dating Jim Carrey among other actors in the industry, then in 2005 she married Kenny Chesney, a famous country music singer, however this marriage was annulled and she has not re-married since.
Zellweger has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contribution to the Motion picture Industry and she continues to make occasional appearances in the industry today.
