RENE RUSSO BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Rene Russo was born on February 17th, 1954 in Burbank, California with the middle name Marie. At the age of two her father left her and her mother to raise her and her only sister. Her father had six other children from previous relationships, however she was not brought up with any of them. She attended Burroughs High School but dropped out after the tenth grade as she was quite a loner and the other children were not very accepting of her.
Russo found whatever jobs she could to help support herself such as working at a movie theater, a hostess in a restaurant and even a cashier at Disneyland. When she was eighteen years old and was at a Rolling Stones concert, a talent scout by the name of John Crosby with International Creative Management approached her and suggested she get involved in the modeling industry.
Within just a couple months she had completed a test shoot and signed a contract with Ford Modeling Agency. Russo began appearing in a number of magazines and then graced the cover of, Vogue. Her career finally began to take off, appearing on the cover of more magazines and even now working on a number of television commercials.
She was at the height of her career, however once she reached the age of thirty, she was becoming less desired and decided to take a break from pursuing any more modeling jobs and focus on studying literature as well as Christian Theology. She also took up some acting classes in Los Angeles and began appearing in a number of local stage productions.
By 1987 she broke into the television industry with a small role on, "Sable" followed by her film debut in, "Major League" (1989). Rene continued to work in the industry appearing in, "Mr. Destiny" (1990) and "Free Jack" (1992). She then got her big break through role in the film, "Lethal Weapon 3" (1992) and soon more decent roles began to follow such as, "In the Line of Fire" (1993), "Outbreak" (1995), "Ransom" (1996), "The Thomas Crown Affair" (1999), "Lethal Weapon 4" (1998), "Get Shorty" (1995), "Tin Cup" (1996), "Big Trouble" (2002) and "Showtime" (2002).
Her latest roles have been in the films, "Two for the Money" (2005), "Thor" (2011) and soon to release, "Frank and Cindy" (2013). She has married only one time to Dan Gilroy who is a screenwriter and together they have one daughter, Rose and reside in Los Angeles and Toluca Lake, California.
