POWERS BOOTHE BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Powers Boothe was born on June 1st, 1948 in Snyder, Texas with the middle name Allen, born to Emily Kathryn Reeves and Merrill Vestal Boothe. After high school he went on to earn a degree from Texas State University and then followed with a Masters in Fine Arts from Southern Methodist University in Dallas graduating in 1972.
He then began to pursue a career as an actor, first joining the repertory company of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival appearing in such productions as, "Henry IV" and "Troilus and Cressida".
As his career as a stage performer progressed he relocate to New York and began adding to his credits such plays as, "Richard III" and "Lone Star". Along with his stage work, he also began auditioning for a number of television roles. Soon he was appearing on the television movies, "The Goodbye Girl" (1977), "The Cold Eye" (1980) and "Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones" (1980) for which he garnered an Emmy Award for his superb performance.
His popularity continued when he was chosen to appear in such television films such as, "Southern Comfort" (1981), "A Breed Apart" (1984), "Red Dawn" (1984), "The Emerald Forest" (1985), "By Dawn's Early Light" (1990) and "U Turn" (1997).
Along with appearing on a variety of television movies he has also added a number of feature films to his resume such as, "Blue Sky" (1994), "Mutant Species" (1995), "Sudden Death" (1995) and "Nixon" (1995).
In addition to movies, Powers has appeared on such television series as, "Justice League", "Deadwood" and "24", "Obscurus Lupa Presents" and soon to release in 2013, "Hatfields and McCoys".
Powers has also done voice over work for such animated television series as, "The Looney Tunes Show", "Ben 10: Ultimate Alien", "Scooby Doo, Mystery Incorporated", "Ben 10: Alien Force" and "Edison & Leo".
In 2009 Powers Boothe was inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame. He has married only cto Pam Cole in 1969 and they have two children and remain married today. Most recently, Powers has been cast as a recurring role on the television series, "To Appomattox" scheduled to release in 2013.
