PAUL PICERNI BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Paul Picerni was born on December 1st, 1922 in Corona, New York with the birth name Horace Paul Picerni. As a young boy his goals were not set on pursuing a career as an actor, instead he hoped to one day work as an attorney.
It was during middle school when he was cast in a school production that he first realized how much he enjoyed entertaining. He soon began appearing in more stage productions and after high school, he took a break from pursuing a career as an actor during World War II and served with the United States Army Air Forces as a B-24 Liberator bombardier.
After completing his military service, Picerni went on to study at Loyola University and continued appearing in college stage productions.
He began finding stage work in Hollywood and it was during one production that he was spotted by a talent scout for Warner Brothers. He was given his first chance at the film industry with a role in the film, "Breakthrough" (1950) starring David Brian, John Agar, Frank Lovejoy and Dick Wesson.
Soon he began adding more film credits to his resume such as, "House of Wax" (1953) starring Vincent Price, Frank Lovejoy, Carolyn Jones, Charles Bronson, Phyllis Kirk, Roy Roberts and Dabbs Greer, "To Hell and Back" (1955) starring alongside World War II Medal of Honor Recipient Audie Murphy in his own biography with Jack Kelly, Marshall Thompson, Charles Drake and David Janssen, "The Scalphunters" (1968) starring Burt Lancaster, Ossie Davis, Shelley Winters, Dabney Coleman and Telly Savalas, "Kotch" (1971) starring Walter Matthau, Deborah Winters, Felicia Farr, Charles Aidman and Ellen Geer and his final film role was in 2007 in, "Three Days to Vegas" starring Peter Falk, Rip Torn and George Segal.
In addition to his film work he also made quite a name for himself as a television actor adding such credits as, "The Lone Wolf", "Mr. and Mrs. North", "Bonanza", "Meet McGraw", "Stories of the Century", "Dragnet", "My Little Margie", "Studio 57", "The Public Defender", "Climax!", "The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin", "Waterfront", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "Navy Log", "Northwest Passage", "Panic", "The Life of Riley", "Code 3", "The Loretta Young Show", "26 Men", "Shotgun Slade", "The Rebel", "Zorro" and his most well known role on the cast of, "The Untouchables" starring with Robert Stack.
Towards the end of his career, he mostly focused on television roles appearing in the series, "Diagnosis Murder", "Matt Houston", "T.J. Hooker" and "Fantasy Island".
Paul Picerni married only once to Marie Mason in 1947 and they had eight children together and remained married until he passed away on January 12th, 2011 in Llano, California after suffering from a heart attack.
