PATRICK WAYNE BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Patrick Wayne was born on July 15th, 1939 in Los Angeles, California with the birth name Patrick John Morrison. His mother was Josephine Alicia Saenz and his father was the legendary John Wayne. He inherited his fathers good looks and charm. He too wanted to pursue a career as an actor just like his father and although he never quite reached the level of star status that his father obtained, Patrick Wayne did manage to make over 40 films and appeared in nine films with his father.
His film debut was in "Rio Grande" (1950) when he was only eleven years old. This role followed with a number of other big screen appearances in such features as, "The Quiet Man" (1952), "The Sun Shines Bright" (1953), "The Long Gray Line" (1955), "Mister Roberts" (1955) and "The Searchers" (1956). The majority of films he appeared in were directed by family friend John Ford.
Along with pursuing a career as an actor, Patrick also managed to graduate from High School and pursue a college education at Loyola University where he graduated in 1961. He did try to work on a film without his father present, "The Young Land" (1959), however it was not so successful and he decided to return to more on screen appearances with his father.
When he was eighteen years old, Patrick appeared on the CBS sitcom, "Mr. Adams and Eve" (1957-1958) and some other films such as, "The Alamo" (1960), "Donovan's Reef" (1963), "McLintock!" (1963), "The Green Berets" (1968) and "An Eye for an Eye" (1966) amongst others.
When Patrick felt he was ready to try to work in the film industry without his dad he chose a different type of genre and instead of working on the western films he was accustomed to, he took a chance at the sci-fi genre. Some of his solo film work included roles on, "Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger" (1977) and "The People That Time Forgot" (1977).
Patrick also had a successful run as a guest star on a number of television series such as, "Fantasy Island" (1977), "Murder, She Wrote" (1984), "Charlie's Angels" (1976), "The Love Boat" (1977), "Sledgehammer!" (1986) and was host of the game show, "Tic-Tac-Dough" (1990) and the "Monte Carlo Show" (1980).
Patrick Wayne has been married twice, first to Peggy Hunt from 1965 through 1978. He then married his present wife, Misha Anderson on May 8th, 1999 and they are still together today. He has no children but does serve as Chairman of the John Wayne Cancer Institute following the death of his older brother Michael.
