Patrick Swayze was born on August 18th, 1952 in Houston, Texas with the birth name Patrick Wayne Swaze.  His mother owned a dance studio in Houston and he would take dance lessons there.  After graduating from Waltrip High School where he excelled in football and gymnastics he was offered a scholarship and went on to study at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas.
