MORT MILLS BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Mort Mills was born on January 11th, 1919 in New York City, New York with the birth name Mortimer Morris Kaplan. Over the course of his career as an actor he added over 200 film and television credits to his resume.
Some of his more well known television roles included recurring roles on the series, "Man Without a Gun", "Perry Mason" and "The Big Valley".
Other television credits included, "Wanted: Dead or Alive", "Davy Crockett", "I Led 3 Lives", "The Adventures of Kit Carson", "Dante", "The Man Behind the Badge", "Zane Grey Theatre", "Rocky Jones, Space Ranger", "Bat Masterson", "Sheriff of Cochise", "Shotgun Slade", "Bonanza", "Death Valley Days", "Sugarfoot", "Bronco", "The Untouchables", "Wagon Train", "The Rifleman", "Casey Jones", "Hopalong Cassidy", "The Lone Ranger", "The Texan", "The Cisco Kid", "Panic!", "Zorro", "The Detective", "Pony Express" and "Bewitched" among many others.
Although his acting career was mostly centered around television roles, he did occasionally add film work to his resume appearing in such features as, "Touch of Evil" (1958) co-starring Orson Welles, Charlton Heston, Janet Leigh, Joseph Calleia, Akim Tamiroff, Ray Collins, Joi Lansing, Victor Millan, Dennis Weaver, Joanna Cook Moore, Mercedes McCambridge, Keenan Wynn, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Joseph Cotten and Marlene Dietrich, Alfred Hitchcock's suspense thriller "Psycho" (1960) starring Anthony Perkins, Vera Miles, John Gavin, Martin Balsam, John McIntire, Simon Oakland, Pat Hitchcock, Frank Albertson, Virginia Gregg, John Anderson, Lurene Tuttle, Vaughn Taylor and Janet Leigh, "The Outlaws Is Coming" (1965) starring The Three Stooges (Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Curly Joe DeRita), Nancy Kovack and Adam West, "Torn Curtain" (1966) starring Paul Newman, Julie Andrews, David Opatoshu and Carolyn Conwell among many others, "The Name of the Game is Kill" (1968) with Jack Lord, Susan Strasberg, Collin Wilcox and Tisha Sterling, "Strategy of Terror" (1969) starring Hugh O'Brian, Barbara Rush, Neil Hamilton and Jan Merlin and "Soldier Blue" (1970) starring Candice Bergen, Peter Strauss, Donald Pleasence, Dana Elcar, Jorge Rivero and John Anderson.
Mort Mills' final acting roles were on the television series, "Mission: Impossible", "Alias Smith and Jones" and "The Streets of San Francisco" in 1973. He then retired from acting and passed away at the age of seventy four on June 6th, 1993 in Ventura, California.
