Matthew Broderick ACTOR


Matthew Broderick was born on March 21st, 1962 in New York City, New York to James Broderick, an actor and Patricia Broderick.  He received his early education at the City & Country School in Manhattan and then attended Walden High School where he focused heavily on studying acting.  By the age of seventeen he was working as a stage actor in a production of, "On Valentine's Day" followed by a role in, "Brighton Beach Memoirs" (1982-1983).
It did not take long before Broderick broke into the film industry appearing on such features as, "Max Dugan Returns" (1983), "War Games" (1983), "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (1986), "Project X" (1987), "Biloxi Blues" (1988), "Out on a Limb" (1992), "The Cable Guy" (1996), "Addicted to Love" (1997), "Inspector Gadget" (1999) and "Election" (1999).
In addition to his film work, Broderick has also returned to working as a stage actor appearing in the plays, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying", "Night Must Fall, "The Philanthropist" and "The Producers" for which he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical.
Over the course of his career he has also added a number of television credits to his resume on such shows as, "Lou Grant" (1981), "Frasier" (1995), "30 Rock" (2008) and "Louie" (2010).  
In 1996, Broderick also tried to work on the other side of the industry as a co-producer, director and actor in the film, "Infinity", however the film was not so successful and he has yet to attempt directing another film.  He has done voice over work for the Disney film, "The Lion King" portraying Simba.
More recently he has returned to the Broadway stage appearing in a production of, "Nice Work If You Can Get It" (2012) and the films, "Wonderful World" (2010), "Margaret" (2011) and "Tower Heist" (2011). 
Matthew Broderick has married only once, to actress Sarah Jessica Parker and they have twin daughters and one son.  They reside in New York City, and also own a residence in the Hamptons.
