MARILYN MAXWELL BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Marilyn Maxwell was born on August 3rd, 1920 in Clarinda, Iowa with the birth name Marvel Marilyn Maxwell. She became a leading lady actress during the 1940's and 1950's. She became well known for her blonde hair and sexy and sensual persona.
She began showing an interest in performing from the young age of three when she took up dancing lessons. As she got older and finished school, Maxwell then found work as a radio singer. In 1942, she was given the chance to sign a film contract with MGM and began appearing on such films as, "Lost in a Harem" (1944) starring Abbott and Costello, "Champion" (1949) starring Kirk Douglas, "The Lemon Drop Kid" (1951) co-starring with Bob Hope and Lloyd Nolan and "Rock-A-Bye Baby" (1958) starring Jerry Lewis.
Maxwell also added a variety of appearances on such television series as, "Wagon Train", "Bus Stop", "Burke's Law", "The Red Skelton Hour", "77 Sunset Strip", "Playhouse 90", "Gunsmoke" and "Men at Law".
She also sang live on such television shows as, "The Jimmy Durante Show", "The Ford Show", starring Tennessee Ernie Ford. She also toured entertaining troops during World War II as well as on USO tours with Bob Hope.
Marilyn Maxwell married three times throughout her lifetime, first to John Conte from 1944 through 1946. She then wed, Anders McIntyre in 1949, however by 1950 this marriage also came to an end Her third husband was Jerry Davis whom she married in 1954 and they had one child before by 1960, this marriage, too, came to an end. She did not re-marry again and on March 20th, 1972, Maxwell passed away in Los Angeles, California after suffering from a heart attack.
