MARGOT KIDDER BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
 
Margot Kidder was born on October 17th, 1948 in Yellowknife, Canada with the middle name Ruth.  Her most well known role was portraying, Lois Lane in four "Superman" films between 1978 and 1987.
 
She was born into a family with four other siblings to Jocelyn and Kendell Kidder.  She began her career as an actress in Toronto, Canada appearing on television series such as, "Wojeck" (1968), "Adventures in Rainbow Country" (1969), "McQueen" (1969), "Corwin" (1969), "Mod Squad" (1970).
 
As her career progressed she continued working on television appearing in, "Nichols" (1971-1972), "Banacek" (1972) and "Barnaby Jones" (1973).  Along with her television work she added to her resume a number of Canadian film roles such as, "The Best Damn Fiddler from Calabogie to Kaladar" (1968), "Gaily, Gaily" (1969), "Sisters" (1973), "The Gravy Train" (1974) and "92 in the Shade" (1975).  This same year she posed for a nude spread in Playboy magazine.
 
Her biggest role came next as Lois Lane in the 1978 film, "Superman" starring Christopher Reeve.  She starred in three other "Superman" films and also appeared in 2004 on the television program, "Smallville" portraying Dr. Bridgette Crosby.
 
Over the course of her career other credits added to her resume have been in the films, "Some Kind of Hero" (1982), "The Glitter Dome" (1984), "Little Treasure" (1985), "Mob Story" (1989), "White Room" (1991) and various television series' such as, "Switch", "Baretta", "Shell Game", "Street Legal", "Murder, She Wrote", "Burke's Law", "Phantom 2040" and "Boston Common" portraying Cookie de Varen in six episodes. 
 
More recently she has been seen on the television series, "The L Word" (2006), "Brothers & Sisters" (2007) and the films, "Universal Signs" (2008), "Love at First Kill" (2008), "A Single Woman" (2008), "Halloween II" (2009), "Servitude" (2011) and currently in production, the short, "Henri 2.0".
 
Kidder has married a total of three times throughout her lifetime, first to Thomas McGuane in 1976 and they had one child before divorcing just one year later.  She then married John Heard in 1979 but by 1980 this marriage also came to an end.  Her third husband was Philippe de Broca whom she wed in 1983 and again this marriage only lasted one year.
 
Margot Kidder has not re-married again and remains now a United States citizen and continues to earn her living as an actress in Hollywood.
