LAWRENCE CRINER BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Lawrence Criner was born on July 19th, 1898 in Waco Texas with the birth name John Lawrence Criner. He began acting in 1926 appearing on such films as, "The Flying Ace" (1926), "The Millionaire" (1927), "Black Gold" (1928) and the short film, "Oft in the Silly Night" (1929).
As his career progressed he remained working in the industry, but never reached the level of stardom he had hoped to achieve. In total he appeared in 27 roles, all of which were film roles up until the 1950's.
Many of his roles were un-credited and his most recent appearances were on the films, "Law of the Jungle" (1942), "What a Guy" (1948) and "The Jackie Robinson Story" (1950) starring Jackie Robinson himself and Ruby Dee, the biography about the man who broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball and went on to become Rookie of the Year for the Brooklyn Dodgers and later enshrined in The Hall of Fame. He then retired from the industry and passed away at the age of sixty six on March 8th, 1965 in Los Angeles, California.
