Kurt Russell ACTOR


Kurt Russell was born on March 17th, 1951 in Springfield, Massachusetts with the middle name Vogel.  He had two younger sisters and his father, Bing Russell was a former baseball player and was also an actor on Bonanza for six years. 
Russell began working in entertainment as a child actor with his first film in 1963 with Elvis Presley in, "It Happened at the World's Fair" when he was only ten years old.  This was followed by being signed to a ten year contract with Disney and staring in such films as, "Follow Me Boys", (1966), "Guns in the Heather" (1969) and on such television series as, "The Virginian" (1964-1965) and "Gilligan's Island" (1965).  
When he became an adult he briefly became involved in playing minor league baseball in the early 1970's, however never braked from acting and easily made the transition from child actor to adult star.  He worked on a number of films as an adult such as "Used Cars" (1980), "Escape From New York" (1981), "The Thing" (1982) and "Silkwood" (1983) for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award.    
He has been married only once to Season Hubley whom he wed in 1979 and they had one child before divorcing in 1983.  Since then he has lived with actress, Goldie Hawn whom he worked with on such films as, "The One and Only, Genuine, Originally Family Band" (1983), "Swing Shift" (1984) and "Overboard" (1987). 
Some of his later film roles were on "The Best of Times" (1986) starring with Robin Williams, Holly Palance, Donald Moffat, Pamela Reed, Dub Taylor, Kathleen Freeman, Kirk Cameron, M. Emmet Walsh and R.G. Armstrong, "Big Trouble in Little China" (1986) with Kim Cattrall, Victor Wong, Dennis Dun, James Hong and Kate Burton, "Tango & Cash" (1989) starring Sylvester Stallone, Jack Palance, Geoffrey Lewis, Michael J. Pollard, Steven Seagal and Teri Hatcher, and Ron Howard's "Backdraft" (1991) starring alongside William Baldwin, Scott Glenn, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Rebecca De Mornay, Donald Sutherland, and Robert De Niro, Jason Gedrick and J. T. Walsh, "Tombstone" (1993) also starring Val Kilmer, Sam Elliott, Bill Paxton, Powers Boothe, Dana Delany, Billy Bob Thorton, Buck Taylor, Terry O'Quinn, Harry Carey Jr., Charlton Heston, Jason Priestley, Paula Malcomson, Stephen Lang, Dana Wheeler-Nicholson and narrated by Robert Mitchum and "Forrest Gump" (1994) starring Tom Hanks and Sally Field.  His latest films are, "Waco" and "Touchback" both 2011. 
Kurt Russell currently lives with actress Goldie Hawn on a 72 acre ranch outside of Aspen, Colorado.  He has another son with Goldie, Wyatt and his first son, Boston from his previous marriage.  He has stated that he always felt like an outcast in Hollywood due to his libertarian views hence he felt it was best to relocate out of California.
