KIRSTEN DUNST BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Kirsten Dunst was born on April 30th, 1982 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey with the birth name Kirsten Caroline Dunst, born to parents Laus and Inez Dunst. Her parents separated when she was a young girl. Dunst became involved in the entertainment industry at the age of three working on a number of television commercials. At the age of seven she made her film debut in, "New York Stories" (1989) and then her family relocated to Los Angeles, California to help her career and she was signed with Ford Models as well as Elite Model Management.
She is most remembered for her role alongside Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in, "Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles" (1994), a role that earned her a Golden Globe nomination as well as a MTV Award and the Saturn Award for Best Young Actress.
Kirsten's career took off with roles in such films as, "Little Women" (1994), "Jumanji" (1995), "Small Soldiers" (1998), "The Virgin Suicides" (1999) and "Bring it On" (2000). She was then cast in one of the most successful films of her career, "Spider-Man" (2002) playing Mary Jane Watson. The film was a box office success and opened a number of doors for her career including roles in, "Levity" (2003), "Mona Lisa Smile" (2003), "Wimbledon" (2004), "Spider-Man II" (2004), "Elizabethtown" (2005), "Marie Antoinette" (2006), "Spider-Man III" (2007), "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People" (2008), "All Good Things" (2010) and "Melancholia" (2011) for which she won a Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
Her latest roles have been in, "Bachelorette" (2011) and soon to release, "Cities" (2013) and "Red Light Winter" (2013).
Along with her acting career, Dunst also earned her high sSchool diploma in 2000 from Notre Dame High and had a brief singing career in a couple films and sang two tracks on Jason Schwartzman's solo album, "Nighttiming" in 2007.
Kirsten also owns a production company with her mother called, Wooden Spoon Productions. She has not yet married nor does she have any children of her own. She is involved in a number of charitable causes such as participating in the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation for which she assisted in designing a necklace that all proceeds went to the Foundation. She is also involved in promoting Breast Cancer awareness and helps raise funds to treat cancer.
Dunst currently resides in New York and Los Angeles and hopes to one day transition from actress to director.
