JUDE LAW BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Jude Law was born on December 29th, 1972 in Lewisham, London in the United Kingdom with the birth name David Jude Law, born to Margaret Anne and peter Robert Law. He has one sister, Natasha and was raised in Blackheath, an area in London.

At the age of twelve he first began to develop an interest in acting when he performed at the National Youth Music Theatre. When he turned seventeen, he dropped out of high school and decided to pursue a career in entertainment.

Law first appeared on a number of British television roles with small parts and then on a daytime soap opera called, "Families" (1990). He then embarked on a stage career and began appearing in a variety of productions in London and later also working on Broadway appearing in, "Indiscretions" for which he received a Tony Award nomination for, "Outstanding Supporting Actor".

Now with quite a few years of stage experience on his resume he turned to the film industry and began appearing in such features as, "Gattaca" (1997), "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" (1997) and "The Talented Mr. Ripley" (1999) for which he won a Best Supporting Actor BAFTA Award. He followed this with another successful film role in 2003 in, "Cold Mountain" starring alongside of Nicole Kidman and Renee Zellweger, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor.

Other film roles he has added to his credits over his course as an actor are in, "Enemy At the Gates" (2001), "A.I Artificial Intelligence" (2001), "Road to Perdition" (2002) starring Paul Newman, "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" (2004), "Sleuth" (2007), "Repo Men" (2010), "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" (2011) and soon to release, "Rise of the Guardians" (2012) and "The Bitter Pill" (2013).

In addition to his acting career, Jude Law is a partner in the Natural Nylon production company and is the face of Dior Homme Sport male perfume. Law is also involved in a variety of charitable causes. In 2004 he helped raise £2.5 million for the Young Vic Theatre project and volunteers for such organizations as Make Poverty History, the Rhys Daniels Trust, WAVE Trauma Centre and Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Jude has married only one time to Sadie Frost in 1997 and after having three children the marriage came to an end in 2003. His parents reside in France and run a drama school and he has another daughter, Sophia from a relationship with model, Samantha Burke.
