JOHN SAXON BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
 
John Saxon was born on August 5th, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York with the birth name Carmine Orrico, born to parents Anna and Antonio Orrico.  He attended North Hollywood High School and was first discovered by an agent who saw him on the cover of, "True Romances" magazine.
 
He is most well known for his roles in a number of horror films which include, "Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984) and "Black Christmas" (1974).  Many also remember him from his role in the film, "Enter the Dragon" (1973) which he co starred with Bruce Lee and Jim Kelly.
 
John graduated from the University of California and his career in acting began after studying with acting coach, Stella Adler and soon he was working in films as well as a number of television roles.  Some of his early work included roles on such features as, "The Hoodlum Saint" (1946), "Running Wild" (1955), "The Unguarded Moment" (1956), "The Girl Who Knew Too Much" (1963) and "Queen of Blood" (1966).
 
In addition to film roles he was also seen on such television series as, "The Time Tunnel" (1967), "The Six Million Dollar Man" (1975), "The Bold Ones: The New Doctors" (1969-1972) and "Falcon Crest".
 
In 1966 he won a Golden Globe Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role in the film, "The Appaloosa" and he starred in the Oscar nominated film, "The Electric Horseman" (1979).
 
Some of his more recent roles have been in such films as, "Tenebrae" (1982), "Cannibal Apocalypse" (1980), "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors" (1987), "New Nightmare" (1994), "Maximum Force" (1992), "From Dusk Till Dawn" (1995), "Joseph's Gift" (1998), "Final Payback" (2001), "Outta Time" (2002), "The Road Home" (2003), "Trapped Ashes" (2006), "The Mercy Man" (2009) , "The Extra" (2011) and soon to release, "Bring Me the Head of Lance Henriksen" (2012).  He also appeared on the television series, "Crime Scene Investigation" (2005) and the television movie, "War Wolves" (2009).
 
He has married twice throughout his lifetime, first to Mary Ann Saxon in 1967 and after having one child this marriage came to an end in 1979.  He then married Gloria Martel in 2008 and they remain together today.
