JOHN DOUCETTE BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
John Doucette was born on January 21st, 1921 in Brockton, Massachusetts. He first began his career in acting appearing in small film roles such as, "Road to the Big House" (1947), "I Wouldn't Be in Your Shoes" (1948), "Canon City" (1948), "The Pilgrimage Play" (1949) and "The Fighting O'Flynn".
Majority of characters he would portray over the course of his career were of a bad tempered character. He had a very deep voice and was able to portray a level of authority.
Some of his more well known film roles he added to his resume were on, "Patton" (1970) starring George C. Scott, "High Noon" (1952) starring Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly, "The Robe" (1953) starring Richard Burton and Victor Mature, "Cleopatra" (1963) starring Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, "Nevada Smith (1966) starring Steve McQueen, "True Grit" (1969) starring John Wayne and Glen Campbell, "The Sons of Katie Elder" (1965) starring John Wayne, Dean Martin, Earl Holliman, Michael Anderson Jr. Martha Hyer and Dennis Hopper and "Big Jake" (1971) starring John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara and Richard Boone. In addition to film credits, he appeared on numerous television series such as, "The Lone Ranger", "The Cisco Kid", "My Friend Flicka", "Have Gun - Will Travel", "The Rat Patrol", "The Wild Wild West", "City Detective", "Lawman", "Bonanza", "Hogan's Heroes" and "Sea Hunt".
Over the course of his career he would appear in over 260 films and television programs.
John Doucette passed away on August 16th, 1994 in Banning, California from cancer and was survived by five daughters, three sons, sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His remains are in Culver City, California at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
