JOHN DAHEIM BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
John Daheim was born on June 22nd, 1916 in Minneapolis, Minnesota with the birth name John Joseph Daheim. He became a well known Hollywood stuntman as well as later a stunt coordinator.
Soon he broke into acting roles as a bit player between 1939 and 1981 and though most movie goers and TV watchers never knew his name they certainly recognized his face. Some of his more well known film roles were in, "The Fighting 69th" (1940) starring James Cagney and Pat O'Brien, "Detour to Danger" (1946), "The Babe Ruth Story" (1948) starring William Bendix as the legendary Babe Ruth, "Champion" (1949) starring Kirk Douglas, "Meet Danny Wilson" (1951) starring Frank Sinatra, "The Pride of the Yankees" (1952) starring Gary Cooper as the Iron Man Lou Gehrig, with Walter Brennan, Dan Duryea and Teresa Wright, "It Happened at the World's Fair" (1963) starring Elvis Presley, "The Poseidon Adventure" (1972) starring Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine, Carol Lynley, Red Buttons, Roddy McDowall, Stella Stevens, Shelley Winters, Jack Albertson, Pamela Sue Martin and Leslie Nielsen, "Earthquake" (1974) starring an ensemble cast such as Charton Heston, Ava Gardner, Lorne Greene, Richard Roundtree, Lloyd Nolan, Barry Sullivan, George Kennedy and Victoria Principal, "The Hindenburg" (1975), "Rollercoaster" (1977) and "Going Ape!" (1981).
Although he worked on over one hundred television shows and movies, many of his roles were un-credited. John also appeared in numerous serials throughout his career such as "Captain America' (1944), "The Crimson Ghost" (1946) and "Commando Cody, Sky Marshal of the Universe" (1955).
In addition to his many film roles he also added quite a few television credits to his resume such as, "The Abbott and Costello Show", "The Lone Ranger", "Four Star Playhouse", "The Adventures of Falcon", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "Soldiers of Fortune", "Colt .45", "Mike Hammer", "The Texan", "Riverboat", "Have Gun - Will Travel", "Rawhide", "Maverick", "77 Sunset Strip" and "The Beverly Hillbillies".
He passed away on September 22nd, 1991 at the age of seventy five in San Diego, California.
