JOEY HEATHERTON BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Joey Heatherton was born on September 14th, 1944 in Rockville Centre, Long Island New York with the birth name Davenie Johanna Heatherton. She completed her education at St. Agnes Cathedral School and while going to school she also became involved in the entertainment industry as a child actress.
Her father, Ray Heatherton was a Broadway star and therefore, it was in her genes to take on a career in show business. She began with working as a stage actress appearing in 1959 in the musical, "The Sound of Music". That same year she was also cast as a regular on, "The Perry Como Show".
By the mid 60's she was also making appearances on such shows as, "The Dean Martin Show", "The Andy Williams Show", "The Hollywood Palace", "The Ed Sullivan Show" and "The Merry Mailman".
As time progressed she added to her television credits an appearance on, "The Tonight Show" (1969), "Route 66", "Mr. Novak", "The Virginian", "Arrest and Trial", "The Nurses" and "Breaking Point".
In addition to her television roles, Heatherton also appeared on the big screen in such features as, "Twilight of Honor" (1963) starring Richard Chamberlain, Nick Adams, Claude Rains, and featuring Joey and Linda Evans in their film debuts, "Where Love Has Gone" (1964) starring alongside Susan Hayward, Bette Davis, Mike Connors, Jane Greer, DeForest Kelley, Anne Seymour and George Macready, "My Blood Runs Cold" (1965) starring Troy Donahue, Barry Sullivan, Jeanette Nolan, Nicolas Coster, Howard McNear, Russel Thorson, Ben Wright and Shirley Mitchell, "The Ballad of Andy Crocker" (1969) starring with Lee Majors, Jimmy Dean, Marvin Gaye, Agnes Moorehead, Pat Hingle and Jill Haworth, "Bluebeard" (1972) co-starring Richard Burton, Raquel Welch and Sybil Danning, "The Happy Hooker Goes to Washington" (1977) starring with George Hamilton, Billy Barty, Harold Sakata, Ray Walston, Edy Williams, Cisse Cameron with cameos by Larry Storch and Rip Taylor, and most recently in the film, "Reflections of Evil" (2002) starring Damon Packard, Nicole Vanderhoff, Beverly Miller, Lana Turner, Tony Curtis, Chad Nelson, George Hamilton, Dean Spunt, Josue Clement and Tim Colceri.
Joey added to her acting career a beautiful singing voice and the song, "Gone" hit #24 on the charts. She also appeared nude in 1997 in Playboy magazine. She married Lance Rentzel, a wide receiver with the Dallas Cowboys football team in 1969 but by 1972 the marriage came to an end.
As time progressed she was not receiving roles she had hoped for and her career was declining rapidly. Along with her public media coverage divorce and the media playing on her eating disorder, she was losing any hope for continuing a career as an actress.
She has remained out of the industry since 2002, but as many in the world of entertainment have proved, a comeback is never un-imaginable.
