JOE COBB BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Joe Cobb was born on November 7th, 1916 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  He began acting at the age of five when his father sent him on an audition for producer Hal Roach for the comedy series, "Our Gang".
 
He is most well known for his role on the, "Our Gang" shorts as the original, 'Fat Boy'.  He appeared on the shorts from 1922 through 1929.  In total he appeared on eighty six shorts such as his first being, "The Big Show" and he also appeared in their last silent film, "Saturday Lesson".  His last film as a regular cast member was on, "Lazy Days" (1929). 
 
Over the course of his career as a child actor, he did return for cameos in three "Little Rascals" shorts, "Fish Hookey" (1933), "Pay as You Exit" (1936) and "Reunion in Rhythm" (1937).
 
His final roles as an actor were in the films, "Where Did You Get That Girl?" (1941), "Tuxedo Junction" (1941) and "Meet Me in St. Louis" (1944).   

Following his career as an actor, Cobb became an assembly for North American Aviation which was a division of Rockwell International.  He worked for them until 1981 and then retired.
 
Joe Cobb passed away on May 21st, 2002 in Santa Ana, California from natural causes.
