JIM CAVIEZEL BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Jim Caviezel was born on September 26th, 1968 in Mount Vernon, Washington with the birth name James Patrick Caviezel, born as one of five children to Jim and Maggie Caviezal. As a child he was very athletic and excelled in basketball. He had aspirations of one day playing for the NBA. He graduated in 1987 from Burien Kennedy High School and then enrolled at Bellevue Community College where he played on the college basketball team.
After suffering an injury to his foot, he was unable to continue his pursuit of a professional basketball career and it was then that he chose to turn his career pursuit towards acting.
Caviezel began with auditioning for a role in the film, "My Own Private Idaho" (1991) and was cast as a small part. This experience lead to him relocating to Los Angeles in search of more acting work. He soon began working on such television shows as, "The Wonder Years" (1988) and "Murder, She Wrote" (1984) and such films as, "Diggstown" (1992), "Wyatt Earp" (1994), "The Rock" (1996) and "G.I. Jane" (1997).
When he finally was cast in a decent role in the film, "The Thin Red Line" (1998), Hollywood began to take notice of his acting talent. Soon more prominent film roles followed such as, "Ride with the Devil" (1999), "Frequency" (2000), "Angel Eyes" (2001) and "High Crimes" (2002).
His next major film role went on to be highly successful when he was cast as Jesus in the Mel Gibson epic, "The Passion of the Christ" (2004). He had now finally earned the recognition he had sought after. Jim is currently starring in the hit TV show titled "Person of Interest". Some of his more recent roles have been in the films, "Outlander" (2008), "The Prisoner" (2009) and soon to release, "Savannah" (2012), "Bliss!" (2012) and "The Tomb" (2013).
Jim Caviezel has married one time to Kerri Browitt in 1997 and they have three children, one adopted son, Bo, a daughter, Lyn Elizabeth also adopted and a boy, David who has terminal cancer.
