JIM BROWN BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Jim Brown was born on February 17th, 1936 in St. Simon Island, Georgia with the middle name Nathaniel, born to Theresa and Swinton Brown. He first excelled at football while attending Manhasset High School and then he went on to study at Syracuse University where he excelled as a Lacrosse player as well as football. His first career was actually as a NFL superstar playing the position of fullback for the Cleveland Browns.
He held an NFL record of scoring 100 touchdowns in a total of ninety three games up until 2006 when LaDainian Tomlinson surpassed his record. He still holds the record for being the only player in NFL history to average over 100 yards per game for an entire career.
In 1964 he made his film debut in, "Rio Conchos" starring Stuart Whitman, Richard Boone, Edmund O'Brien and Tony Franciosa, which soon followed with other film roles such as, "The Dirty Dozen" (1967) starring Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, Robert Ryan, Charles Bronson, Telly Savalas, Clint Walker, Richard Jaeckel among a host of stars, "Ice Station Zebra" (1968) starring Rock Hudson and Ernest Borgnine, "100 Rifles" (1969) co-starring with Raquel Welch, Burt Reynolds and Fernando Lamas, "El Condor" (1970) and "Slaughter" (1972).
He was soon becoming a highly desired actor in the industry adding more film roles to his resume such as, "Black Gunn" (1972), "Three the Hard Way" (1974), "Take a Hard Ride" (1975), "One Down, Two to Go" (1982), "Original Gangsta's" (1996) and "On the Edge" (2002). In addition to his many film roles he also made quite a name for himself in the television industry adding such credits as, "CHiPs" (1977), "Knight Rider" (1982) and other appearances on, "T.J. Hooker", "The A-Team", "Lady Blue" and "Cover Up".
Some of his more prominent film roles came later in his career appearing on the big screen in such features as, "The Running Man" (1987), "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka" (1988), "Mars Attacks!" (1996), "Any Given Sunday" (1999), "She Hate Me" (2004) and most recently he has appeared on the television movies, "Sucker Free City" (2004) and "Sideliners" (2006).
Jim Brown has married twice throughout his lifetime, first to Sue Brown whom he wed in 1959 and together they had three children before the marriage came to an end in 1972. He then married Monique Brown in 1997 and they have one child together and remain married today.
In addition to his acting honors he was also inducted into the Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1983 as well as the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971. He also was hired in 1993 as a color commentator for the Ultimate Fighting Championships. He also dedicates his free time to the Amer-I-Can Program which he founded. The organization helps children who are heading down the wrong path in life being involved with gangs.
