JEFF BRIDGES BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
 
Jeff Bridges was born on December 4th, 1949 in Los Angeles, California with the birth name Jeff Leon Bridges.  His father was a well known film and television actor, Lloyd Bridges and his mother was Dorothy Bridges.  Along with his brother, Beau Bridges, the two boys grew up in Hollywood and were highly exposed to the world of entertainment.  Jeff has a younger sister Lucinda and another brother, Grant, but neither of them pursued careers in the entertainment world.  Along with their mother who was also a working actress, both Beau and Jeff first appeared on screen in the film, "The company She Keeps" (1951) and they were also seen on television with their dad in the series, "Sea Hunt" (1958).
 
Along with being exposed to acting in television and film, Jeff also would work with his dad touring on stage productions such as in the play, "Anniversary Waltz".  As a young teenage boy in the industry he began showing signs of addiction to drugs and his parents intervened to stop the issue before it got to out of hand.
 
After he graduated from University High School in Los Angeles, California he went on to study acting at Herbert Berghof Studio and even took a break briefly from the industry to join the United States Coast Guard reserves.
 
Jeff continued to work in the industry and was seen on such on such television movies as, "Silent Night, Lonely Night" (1969) and such films as, "The Yin and the Yang of Mr. Go" (1970), "Halls of Anger" (1970), "The Last Picture Show" (1971), "Fat City" (1972), "Bad Company" (1972), "The Last American Hero" (1973), "The Iceman Cometh" (1973), "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot" (1974), "Rancho Delux" (1975), "Hearts of the West" (1975) and "Winter Kills" (1979).
 
As his career progressed he was able to continue to get A rated film roles and starred in such films as, "TRON" (1982), "The Fabulous Baker Boys" (1989) and even was nominated for his third Oscar for his role in the film, "Starman" (1984). 
 
He was a very popular actor and was not lacking opportunities for new roles.  His later career roles consisted of appearing on the big screen in such films as, "The Fisher King" (1991), "American Heart" (1992), "Fearless" (1993), "The Big Lebowski" (1998), "The Contender" (2000) for which he received his fourth Oscar nomination.
 
Many viewers remember him for his role in the film, "Iron Man" (2008) and then he won an Oscar, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Award for his role in, "Crazy Heart" (2009).  He has also appeared in a number of commercials such as, Hyundai car advertisements doing the voice over work and for the battery company, Duracell. 
 
Jeff Bridges has married only once to Susan Bridges whom he wed in 1977 and they have three children, Isabelle, Jessica and Hayley.  He met his wife in 1975 working on the set of, "Rancho Delux" in 1975.

He remains living with is wife in California and when not working he also enjoys singing and dabbles in photography.
