JEANETTE NOLAN BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Jeanette Nolan was born on December 30th, 1911 in Los Angeles, California.  After earning her high school diploma from Abraham Lincoln High School in Los Angeles she began her involvement in acting by first joining the Pasadena Playhouse while also pursuing her college education at Los Angeles City College.
 
She first gained experience in the industry by making her first radio appearance in 1932 in, "Omar Khayyam".  other radio series she appeared regularly on were, "Young Dr. Malone" (1939-1940), "Cavalcade of America" (1940-1941), "One Man's Family" (1947-1950) and "The Great Gildersleeve" (1949-1952). 
 
While her career progressed she worked not only as a stage actress but also on numerous films as well as over three hundred television appearances.  Some of her earlier film roles were in such features as, "Macbeth" (1948), "No Sad Songs for Me" (1950), "The Happy Time" (1952) and one of her more well known roles in, "The Big Heat" (1954).
 
As she continued working, she began to be seen in more prominent film roles such as, "April Love" (1957), "The Rode Together" (1961) starring James Stewart and Richard Widmark and "The Reluctant Astronaut" (1967).  Along with films she made quite a name for herself in the television industry with appearances on such series as, "Schlitz Playhouse" (1953-1956), "Crusader" (1956), "Twilight Zone" (1962-1963), "Dr. Kildare" (1963-1964), "Lassie" (1964), "The Eleventh Hour" (1964), "Wagon Train" (1961-1965) and "The Man from U.N.C.L.E" (1965).   

In total she earned four Emmy Awards throughout her career in the industry.  Her final film role was in 1998 in, "The Horse Whisperer" portraying actor, Robert Redford's mother.  She married only once throughout her life to actor, John McIntire whom she remained married to until he passed away in 1991.  They had two children together.  Just a couple years after losing her husband, Nolan passed away on June 5th, 1998 in Los Angeles, California after suffering from a stroke at the age of eighty six.  She was interred at Eureka in Montana's Tobacco Valley Cemetery.
