He was raised in Hanford, California and after high school he went on to enroll at Ventura College in California. Vincent 's early career roles were in, "The Bandits" (1967), "The Mystery of the Chinese Junk" (1967) and "Journey to Shiloh" (1968). It did not take long for a casting agent by the name of Dick Clayton to sign Vincent to a contract with Universal Pictures. He soon began appearing more frequently on such television series as, "Dragnet" (1968) and "Survivors" (1969) starring Lana Turner and Ralph Bellamy.
Soon he was working in films such as, "The Undefeated" (1969) starring John Wayne and Rock Hudson, "The Mechanic" (1972) starring alongside Charles Bronson, "Airwolf" (1984) starring with Ernest Borgnine, "White Line Fever" (1975), "Baby Blue Marine" (1976), "Big Wednesday" (1978), "The Winds of War" (1983) and "The Devine Enforcer" (1992).

In 1996 he suffered a near fatal car accident that left him with permanent vocal chord damage therefore, during the remainder of his career he was left with a raspy voice which ultimately affected his whole acting career.
Throughout his lifetime he married a total of three times. His first wife was Bonnie Portman from 1974 through 1975 and together they had one daughter.
