JAMES CRAIG BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
James Craig was born on February 4th, 1912 in Nashville, Tennessee with the birth name James Henry Meador. After high school he attended the Rice Institute and then became involved in acting.
His first acting lesson was taken from another actor, Cyril Delevanti. Craig first began working in the film industry as an extra. After gaining some experience he soon began being cast in such films as, "Sophie Lang Goes West" (1937), 'Fighting G-Men" (1938), "Oily to Bed, Oily to Rise" (1939), "Winners of the West" (1940) and "Kitty Foyle" (1940).
He had now begun to make quite a name for himself in the industry and continued taking on more film roles earning critical praise for his role in the film, "All That Money Can Buy" (1941). He is most well known for his role in, "Our Vines have Tender Grapes" (1945).
Along with his film credits he made numerous appearances on such television series as, "The ABC Afternoon Playbreak", "The Virginian", "Custer", "Daniel Boone", "Tales of Wells Fargo", "Death Valley Days", "Broken Arrow", "Studio 57" and "The Millionaire".
Some of his more recent roles prior to retiring were on such films as, "Arizona Bushwackers" (1968), "The Devil's Brigade" (1968), "Venus Flytrap" (1970), "The Tormentors" (1971) and his final role in the film, "Doomsday Machine" (1976).
After retiring from the industry, Craig embarked on a new career as a real estate agent. Craig passed away at the age of seventy three from lung cancer on June 28th, 1985 in Santa Ana, California.
