JACQUELINE BISSET BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Jacqueline Bisset was born on September 13th, 1944 in Weybridge, England with the birth name Winnifred Jacqueline Fraser-Bisset. Her mother worked as an attorney and her father was a doctor. She was raised in England and was brought up speaking French. She studied ballet as a young girl and when her parents got divorced she found work as a model to help support her mother who had become ill with sclerosis.
Bisset soon developed an interest in acting and began working in the film industry as an extra appearing on such films as, "The Knack…and How to Get it" (1965). Soon she was being cast in more prominent roles in such films as, "Cul-de-sac" (1966), "Two for the Road" (1967) and the James Bond thriller "Casino Royale" (1967).
She received her first starring role in the film, "The Cape Town Affair" (1967) succeeded by a role in, "The Detective" (1968). Her first Golden Globe nomination soon followed when she appeared on the big screen in, "The Sweet Ride" (1968).
As her career progressed she added to her resume roles in the films, "Bullitt" (1968) starring Steve McQueen, "The Grasshopper" (1969), "Airport" (1970) starring Dean Martin, George Kennedy, Van Heflin, Burt Lancaster and Helen Hayes, "The Mephisto Waltz" (1971), "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean " (1972) starring Paul Newman, "Day for Night" (1973), "The Deep" (1977) and "Who Is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe?" (1978) for which she received her second Golden Globe nomination.
More successful roles followed in, "Class" (1983) and "Under the Volcano" (1984) which earned her yet another Golden Globe nomination. She also appeared on a number of television movies and series. She received an Emmy nomination for her role in the miniseries, "Joan of Arc" (1999).
Added to her resume are also a variety of television movies such as, "Jesus" (1999), "America's Prince: The John F. Kennedy Jr. Story" (2003), "An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving" (2008) and "Carolina Moon" (2007).
Some of her latest roles have been in such films as, "Domino" (2005), "The Last Film Festival" (2010), "Two Jacks" (2011) and "Vivaldi" (2011). She has currently never married and has no children. She remains working in the industry and has homes in Beverly Hills, California as well as in England.
