GLENN CORBETT BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Glenn Corbett was born on August 17th, 1933 in El Monte, California with the birth name Glen Edwin Rothenburg. He served for a bit in the navy before his wife suggested to him he try a career in acting. He began with getting cast in a number of small parts in the school stage productions as their college. He was seen by a scout from Columbia Pictures who approached him and signed him to an acting contract.
His first film role was in 1959 in, "The Crimson Kimono" followed by roles in such features as, "The Mountain Road" (1960), "Man on a String" (1960) and "Homicidal" (1961) where he was cast as the lead.
Along with working in films he made a name for himself in the television industry when he was cast in the series, "Route 66" (1960) followed by a role in, 'The Road West" (1966) and "Star Trek" (1967).
As his career progressed into the 1970's he continued appearing in a number of films such as, "Big Jake" (1971) starring John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara and Richard Boone, "Nashville Girl" (1976), "Midway" (1976) starring John Wayne and also appeared on the television series, "Dallas", "Barnaby Jones" and "The Doctors".
He married only once to Judith Z. Daniels in 1957 and they had two children together and remained married until he passed away from lung cancer on January 16th, 1993 in San Antonio, Texas. His remains are buried in Fort San Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
