FRANK DEKOVA BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
 
Frank DeKova was born on Match 17th, 1910 in New York City, New York.  His first career was working as a school teacher which he later decided to stop and instead pursue a career as a stage actor. 
 
He first found work performing in a number of Shakespearean stage productions before he got his chance to perform on Broadway in such productions as, "Detective Story".
 
Soon, Hollywood took notice of him from his work on Broadway and he was given a chance to work on the film, "Viva Zapata!" (1952) starring Marlon Brando, Jean Peters and Anthony Quinn.  Soon other film roles followed such as, "The Big Sky" (1952) starring Kirk Douglas and Dewey Martin, "Teenage Cave Man" (1958), "The Untouchables" (1959), "Cowboy" (1958) starring Glenn Ford, Jack Lemmon, Richard Jaeckel and Dick York and "The Mechanic" (1972) starring Charles Bronson and Jan-Michael Vincent.
 
Along with film he also made quite a name for himself on television portraying Chief Wild Eagle on the series, "F Troop" (1965).  Other television credits he added included, "Gunsmoke", "Wagon Train", "Death valley Days", "Hawaii Five-O", "Police Woman" and "The Rockford Files".
 
Frank DeKova passed away in his sleep on October 15th, 1981 in Sepulveda, California.  His remains are buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, California.
