FRANCE NUYEN BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
France Nuyen was born on July 31st, 1939 in Marseille, France with the birth name France Nguyen Van Nga. She was raised by a cousin in France and had a troubled abusive childhood, which later lead to her earning a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and after her career as an actress she found work as a family practice counselor working with abused children and women. In 1989 she was awarded the 'Woman of the Year' award in Los Angeles, California for her work as a psychologist.
As an actress she is most remembered for her role on the television series, "Star Trek" (1966) portraying 'the Dohlman of Elas'. Her career as an actress began when she was working as a seamstress in the mid 1950's and a photographer for, Life Magazine took notice of her and she was given the chance to appear on the cover of the magazine.
Soon she found work as a stage actress and was appearing in such productions as, "The World of Suzie Wong". Soon she broke into the film industry adding such film credits to her resume as, "In Love and War" (1958) starring with Robert Wagner, Dana Wynter, Jeffrey Hunter, Hope Lange, Bradford Dillman and Sheree North, "South Pacific" (1958) starring alongside Rossano Brazzi, Mitzi Gaynor, John Kerr, Ray Walston, Juanita Hall, Ron Ely and Tom Laughlin, "Satan Never Sleeps" (1962) starring with William Holden and Clifton Webb, "A Girl Named Tamiko" (1962) also starring Laurence Harvey, Martha Hyer, Gary Merrill and Miyoshi Umeki, "Diamond Head" (1963) starring Charlton Heston, Yvette Mimieux, George Chakiris, James Darren, Aline MacMahon, Philip Ahn, Vaughn Taylor and Elizabeth Allen, "Dimension 5" (1966) starring with Jeffrey Hunter and Harold Sakata, "Battle for the Planet of the Apes" (1973) co-starring Roddy McDowall, Claude Akins, Natalie Trundy, Lew Ayres, Severn Darden, John Huston and Paul Williams, "China Cry" (1990) starring with James Shigeta and Julia Nickson and her most recent appearance in, "The American Standards" (2008).

France Nuyen has married twice throughout her lifetime, first to Dr. Thomas Gaspar Morell in 1963 and they had one child together before the marriage came to an end in 1966. She then wed actor Robert Culp in 1967 however by 1970 this marriage also ended in divorce.
