ELENA VERDUGO BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Elena Verdugo was born on April 20th, 1926 in Hollywood, California with the birth name Elena Angela Verdugo.  As a little girl she took dance lessons and at the tender age of six she made her film debut in, "Cavalier of the West" (1931).
 
She then took a break from acting to go to school and live a normal childhood.  As a teenager she returned to acting and was seen in such films as, "Down Argentine Way" (1940), "Blood and Sand" (1941), "To the Shores of Tripoli" (1942) and her biggest film role up to that point was in, "The Moon and Sixpence" (1942).
 
Transitioning from a teenage actress into an adult actress in the film industry was not too difficult for Verdugo.  She continued to appear on the big screen in such films as, "House of Frankenstein" (1944), "The Frozen Ghost" (1945), "Little Giant" (1946), "Song of Scheherazade" (1947), "Thief of Damascus" (1952), "El Dorado Pass" (1948) and "The Big Sombrero" (1949).
 
Verdugo then began to focus her acting career on television roles such as on the series, "Meet Millie" (1952), "The New Phil Silvers Show" (1964), "Many Happy Returns" (1964-1965) and then she became most well known to viewers for her role on the television series, "Marcus Welby, M.D." (1969), playing Consuelo Lopez for which she received an Emmy nomination for her performance.
 
Throughout her career she has married twice, first to Charles R. Marion from 1946 through 1955 and together they had one child who she lost later when he was only fifty to a heart attack.  She then married Charles R. Rosewall in 1972 and they remain married today.
 
Her career has spanned in the industry over six decades and she was honored for all her hard work, with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
