EDMUND COBB BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Edmund Cobb was born on June 23rd, 1892 in Albuquerque, New Mexico with the birth name Edmund Fessenden Cobb, born to William Henry Cobb and Edwinna Ross.  He had two sisters and one brother.

His career in acting began in 1912 with some of his early roles being on such shorts as, "A Pueblo Legend" (1912), "His Blind Power" (1913), "The Circle End" (1914), "The Heart of a Man" (1915) and "A Dignified Family" (1915).

Over the course of his career, although many of his roles were un-credited, he appeared in over six hundred roles.  Some of which towards the middle of his career included, "Two Gun Law" (1937) starring Charles Starrett and Peggy Stratford, "The Lone Ranger" (1938) starring Lee Powell, Chief Thundercloud and Lynne Roberts, "Santa Fe Trail" (1940) starring Errol Flynn and Ronald Reagan, "The Dark Command" (1940) starring John Wayne, Roy Rogers, Claire Trevor and Walter Pidgeon, "Go West, Young Lady" (1941) starring Penny Singleton, Glenn Ford and Ann Miller, "Destroyer" (1943) starring Edward G. In addition to his film work, he did appear on a couple television series throughout his career in the industry such as, "Gunsmoke", "The Lone Ranger", "The Cisco Kid", "The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok", "The Range Rider", "Lassie", "Outlaws", "Have Gun - Will Travel", "The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin" and "Highway Patrol".

Edmund  Cobb married twice throughout his lifetime, first to actress Helen Hayes in 1914 and they had one child together before the marriage came to an end in 1925.  He then married his second wife, Vivian Marie Winter and they remained together until she passed away on July 26th, 1974.  He lost his life just one month later on August 15th, 1974 in Woodland Hills, California after suffering from a heart attack.
