DREW BARRYMORE BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Drew Barrymore was born on February 22nd, 1975 in Culver City, California with the birth name Drew Blyth Barrymore. Her parents were Jaid and John Drew Barrymore, a famous actor. She was born into a family all involved in acting and right after she was born her parents divorced.
At only eleven months old she auditioned for a dog commercial and when the dog bit her she laughed instead of crying and was given her first job. At the age of five she was cast in her first film, "Altered States" (1980) followed by her next film role which was her big breaking point in her career, playing Gertie, the little sister to Elliot in, "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial". At such a young age she already earned her first Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress in her next film role, "Irreconcilable Differences" (1984).
Even though her career was heading in the right direction, her personal life was more troublesome. By the age of nine she was already smoking cigarettes and at the age of eleven she was consuming alcohol. Soon drugs became a part of her life during her teenage years and before she was fourteen years old she had already tried to commit suicide and had been admitted to rehab twice.
Drew did return to working in the industry as from childhood that was also she knew. Barrymore starred in such films as, "Poison Ivy" (1992) and "Guncrazy" which earned her a second Golden Globe nomination.
She also tried to help her career by posing nude in an issue of Interview magazine on the cover and inside photos as well. She also posed nude again in 1995 in an issue of Playboy magazine. Drew was rebelling and even bared her breast when she was a guest on, "The Late Show with David Letterman".
However, her career continued and she appeared on the screen in such films as, "Boys on the Side" (1995), "Batman Forever" (1995), "Scream" (1996), "Wishful Thinking" (1997), "The Wedding Singer" (1998), "Home Fries" (1998) and "Ever After" (1998).
She also managed to have her own film company, Flower Films and appeared in a number of films her company produced including, "Never Been Kissed" (1999) and "Charlie's Angels" (2000). She was an actress in high demand and continued to work with some of the most famous people in the industry such as Sam Rockwell and Julia Roberts in the film, "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" (2002).
Some of her latest film appearances have been in, "50 First Dates" (2004), "He's Just Not That Into You" (2009), "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" (2008), "Everybody's Fine" (2009), and "Going the Distance" (2010).
She has received a number of honors throughout her career and is also involved in a variety of charitable causes. Barrymore was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was on the cover of People Magazine issues in 2007 of the 100 Most Beautiful.
Barrymore has donated more than $1 million dollars to the UN World Food Programme and was named an Ambassador Against Hunger for the organization.
Along with a successful film career she also endorses a number of products such as CoverGirl cosmetics being their spokeswoman and the face of Gucci's jewelry line.
She has been married twice, first to Jeremy Thomas in 1994 and this marriage only lasted one year. She then married Tom Green in 2001 and again this marriage only lasted one year. She has not married again nor does she have any children of her own. She has had a number of lasting relationships but is hesitant to enter into marriage too fast.
