Although he never reached a high level of stardom as his career progressed he managed to add over 150 credits to his resume from a number of television shows and films. He was appearing with such famous actors as Jane Fonda and although he was just as talented, he still could not reach the level of stardom he desired in Hollywood, yet he continued to work on a number of more successful films such as, "Ordinary People" (1980), "Revolution" (1985), "A Dry White Season" (1989) and the very successful, "JFK" (1991).
Up until this point he still had not won an Oscar for any of his roles, but roles continued to be offered to him. He was seen on the big screen in, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1992), "Shadow of the Wolf" (1992), "Disclosure" (1994) starring alongside Michael Douglas and Demi Moore, "Space Cowboys" (2000) and "Cold Mountain" (2003) starring Nicole Kidman, Renee Zellweger and Jude Law.
