DON STROUD BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Don Stroud was born on September 1st, 1943 in Honolulu, Hawaii with the middle name Lee. His father, Clarence Stroud was a well known vaudeville performer and his mother, Ann McCormack was a singer who once toured with Frank Sinatra.
Being born into a family highly involved in the entertainment industry opened many doors for Stroud growing up. His mother was re-married to Paul Livermore and she would entertain nightly in Honolulu at 'Embers Streak House and Nightclub' which she operated with her new husband.
Growing up, Stroud excelled at surfing and was once ranked the 4th greatest surfer in the world. He was discovered by actor, Troy Donahue while surfing at Waikiki. Donahue needed a stunt double for a film and Stroud was hired to work on the tv series "Hawaiian Eye" (1959) starring Robert Conrad and Connie Stevens.
This experience intrigued Stroud and he decided to relocate to Hollywood, California and try his hand at acting. While trying to pursue a career in the industry he supported himself with a number of part time jobs such as a bouncer, nightclub manager and parking cars.
After some time in Hollywood, Stroud began to make quite a name for himself. Over the course of his career he has added over 100 film credits and 175 television credits to his resume.
Some of his more well known television roles include, "The New Mike Hammer", "The New Gidget", "The Road West, "Nash Bridges", "Pensacola: Wings of Gold", "Murder, She Wrote", "Renegade" and "Courthouse" among many others.
He added a variety of film roles to his resume as well such as, "The Ballad of Josie" (1967) starring Doris Day and Peter Graves, "Coogan's Bluff" (1968) starring Clint Eastwood, "Von Richthofen and Brown" (1971) "Joe Kidd" (1972) again starring Clint Eastwood, "Murph the Surf" (1975), "Death Weekend" (1976), "The Amityville Horror" (1979), "The Buddy Holly Story" (1978) starring Gary Busey, "Licence to Kill" (1989) and "Detonator" (1998).
Currently, Don Stroud is married to his third wife, Teri Sullivan whom he wed in 1994. Prior to this marriage he was first married to Sally Ann Stroud in 1973 and when that marriage ended in divorce he wed Linda Hayes in 1982.
Don Stroud never had any children and most recently he has appeared in the film, "Sutures" (2009) and the television series, "Hawaii Five-O" (2011). He also worked as a producer on the television series, "Good Morning Hawaii" in 2006.
