DON CHEADLE BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Don Cheadle was born on November 29th, 1964 in Kansas City, Missouri with the birth name Donald Frank Cheadle, born to Bettye and Donald Frank Cheadle Sr. He was raised in various places throughout his childhood and after earning his high school diploma from East High in Denver, Colorado, he went on to receive a BA in Fine Arts from California Institute of the Arts.
He then began to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He first found work as a stand up comic while attending various auditions. His early on television appearances included the series, "Sidekicks" (1986), "L.A. Law" (1986), "Fame" (1986), "Hill Street Blues" (1986) and "The Bronx Zoo".
One of his first big roles was in the film, "Hamburger Hill" (1987). He then appeared on such films as, "Roadside Prophets" (1992), "The Meteor Man" (1993), "Things to Do in Denver When Your Dead" (1995) and the role that really gained him attention in, "Devil in a Blue Dress" (1995), a role for which he won a Best Supporting Actor Award from the Los Angeles Film Critics.
Other successful films he has starred in include, "Volcano" (1997), "Boogie Nights" (1997), "Mission to Mars" (2000), "Ocean's Eleven" (2001) starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Andy Garcia, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Carl Reiner, Bernie Mac and Elliott Gould, "Rush Hour 2" (2001), "Crash" (2004) and "Ocean's Twelve" (2004) and the last in the Ocean's Trilogy, "Ocean's Thirteen" (2007).
More recently he has appeared on the films, "Brooklyn's Finest" (2009), "Iron Man 2" (2010), "The Guard" (2011), "Flight" (2012) and to release in 2013, "Iron Man 3". He also has worked on thirteen episodes of the television series, "House of Lies" (2012).
Don Cheadle resides in Los Angeles, California with actress, Bridgid Coulter and they have two daughters together. He also devotes his time as an activist to raise awareness of the genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan. In 2007, he was awarded the BET Humanitarian award of the year for his humanitarian services he has provided for the causes he believes in. He was also awarded a Summit Peace Award in 2007 for his work and time he has devoted to stop the genocide and suffering of the people of Darfur.
