DEAN STOCKWELL BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Dean Stockwell was born on March 1936 in Hollywood, California with the birth name Robert Dean Stockwell.  His parents were, Nina Olivette an actress and Harry Stockwell, also a working actor and singer who supplied the speaking voices for Prince Charming in Walt Disney's, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (1937).

Dean was involved in the acting industry from a very young age since he was exposed to it from both his parents.  In 1945 he was cast in the musical film, "Anchors Aweigh".  This film role was followed by others in such big screen features as, "The Green Years" (1946), "Gentleman's Agreement" (1947), Down to the Sea in Ships" (1949), "The Boy With Green Hair" (1948) and "The Secret Garden" (1949).

As he began to grow into a teenage boy he had no issues making the transition from child actor to teenage and even adult actor.  Some of his later film roles were in, "Compulsion" (1959) and "Sons and Lovers" (1960).

Along with having a career spanning over 60 years in the industry he did not limit himself to film roles alone as he made a number of guest appearances on television in such series as, "The Restless Gun" (1958), "Bus Stop" (1961) and "The Eleventh Hour" (1964).

Dean was nominated for an Academy award for his role as a Mafia boss Tony Russo in the film, "Married to the Mob" (1988) and he was also the lead for four years in, "Battlestar Galactica" (2006).

Dean Stockwell married twice, first to Millie Perkins in 1960 through 1962.  He then married his second wife, Jot Marchenko in 1981 and they had two children together, Austin and Sophia before this marriage ended in divorce in 2004.

He was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1992.  Dean was also the first person to win two Acting Awards at the Cannes Film Festival, however both awards had to be shared with his co-stars.

Along with being a working actor, Dean is also an established artist and still displays his work.  He also is involved in martial arts and enjoys golfing in his free time.
