DAVID NELSON BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

David Nelson was born on October 24th, 1936 in New York City, New York with the middle name Oswald to parents, Ozzie Nelson and Harriet Hilliard Nelson.  His mother was a singer as well as an actress and so from a young age he was exposed to the industry, however his parents did not want him to be in the business and tried very hard to keep their sons out of pursuing a career in the industry.  
 
He did end up prior to graduating from high school appearing on his parents radio show and in 1952 both he and his brother Ricky made their film debuts in, "Here Come the Nelsons".   His younger brother Ricky Nelson also went on to pursue a career as an actor as well as becoming a popular Rock and Roll singer and teen idol. 
 
Soon he was working in the industry gaining a huge amount of success with his role on the television series, "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" (1952-1966).  When the series came to an end he graduated from Hollywood High School and then returned to the industry appearing in such series as, "The D.A." (1971), "The Love Boat" (1978) and the television movies, "Swing Out, Sweet Land" (1970), "High School U.S.A" (1983) and his final film role in, "Cry-Baby"(1990).   
 
In addition to his career as an actor he began his own commercial production company.  He also had worked as a director on such projects as, "O.K. Crackerby!" (1965), "Hondo" (1967) starring John  Wayne, "Childish Things" (1969), "Death Screams" (1982), "Last Plane Out" (1983) and the television series, "Goodnight, Beantown" (1984).
 
He married twice throughout his lifetime, first to June Blair in 1961 and they had two children before this marriage ended in 1975.  He then married, Yvonne O' Connor Huston in 1975 and he adopted her three children from her previous relationship.  They remained married until he passed away on January 11th, 2011 in Los Angeles, California after suffering from colon cancer. 
 
David Nelson was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contribution to the television industry.
