DAVID JAMES ELLIOTT BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
David James Elliott was born on September 21st, 1960 in Toronto, Canada with the birth name David William Smith. He is the second born of three sons to Arnold and Pat Smith. He was raised in Canada but did spend a number of years during his childhood living in the Bahamas as quite a few of his fathers relatives lived there.
He briefly quit high school to join a band but later went back and earned his degree at the age of nineteen. He then went on to study at Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto, Canada. David then auditioned for the Stratford Shakespearean Festival in Ontario, Canada and was accepted becoming a member of its Young Company.
He later relocated to Los Angeles, California in pursuit of a career as an actor. He began with being cast on such films as, "Police Academy 3: Back in Training" (1986) and "The untouchables" (1993). He was also appearing on numerous television series early in his career such as, "Knots Landing" and "Street Legal".
Elliott was then given a recurring role on the hit television series, "Melrose Place" playing Terry Parsons. He became most well known for his role on the hit television series, "JAG" (1995-2005) portraying the character Harmon Rabb Jr.
As his career progressed he mainly has focused on television roles appearing in such series as, "Seinfeld", "Close to Home", "The Guard" and "Knights of Bloodsteel".
Some of his latest roles have been on the television series, "Scoundrels" (2010), "CSI: NY" (2011) and soon to release in 2012, "G.C.B.". He has also appeared in the films, "Terror Trap" (2010), "Confined" (2010), "The Rainbow Tribe" (2011) and the television movie, "Dad's Home" (2010).
He has married only once throughout his lifetime to Nanci Chambers whom he wed in 1992 and they have two children and remain married today. They had another wedding ceremony in Santa Barbara, California since when they first wed, they could not afford to have a large expensive wedding. The two are now both United States citizens.
Elliott has also received a number of honors since he has been a working actor such as being chosen by People's Magazine as, "One of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World" in 1996.
