DANIEL CRAIG BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Daniel Craig was born on March 2nd, 1968 in Chester, Cheshire in England with the birth name Daniel Wroughton Craig. He was born to parents, Tim and Carol Olivia Craig who divorced in 1972. He then moved to Liverpool and was raised with his older sister, Lea by their mother.
Craig first developed an interest in acting when his mother exposed him to live theater at the Liverpool Everyman Theatre. As a young boy he began acting in various stage productions and by the age of fourteen he was taking on more challenging stage roles at Hilbre High School in such productions as, "Oliver", "Romeo and Juliet" and "Cinderella".
Soon he was accepted to travel with the National Youth Theatre's troupe and moved to London. He began performing on stage in such productions as, "Troilus and Cressida" and also supported himself by working as a waiter. He continued to struggle to break into the industry and really make a name for himself.
His big break finally came when he was accepted into the Guildhall School of Music and Drama at the Barbican. In 1991 after graduation he finally made his way into the film industry with his film debut in, "The Power of One" (1992) and "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" (2001) also starring Angelina Jolie. He also appeared in such television movies as, "Our Friends in the North" (1996).
Other film roles he added to his resume early on in his career were roles in, "Elizabeth" (1998) and "A Kid in King Arthur's Court" (1995). Craig was also seen on television in, "Sharpie's Eagle" and "Zorro" (both 1993).
As his career progressed he received a nomination for his role in the film, "Layer Cake" (2004) and his most well known role came in 2005 when he was cast to portray, James Bond in, "Casino Royale" (2006), "Quantum of Solace" (2008), "James Bond 007: Blood Stone" (2010), "GoldenEye 007" (2010) and "James Bond Supports International Women's Day" (2011).
Craig was also asked to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2006. Esquire magazine named him in 2006, "Best Dressed Male" and in 2007 he was voted #7 in Elle Magazine's, "15 Sexiest Men" .
Some of his more recent film roles have been in, "Defiance" (2008), "Cowboys & Aliens" (2011) and soon to release in 2012 the next James Bond film, "Skyfall".
Daniel Craig has married twice, first to Fiona Loudon in 1992 and after having one child this marriage came to an end just two years later. He is currently married to his second wife, actress, Rachel Weisz whom he wed on June 22nd, 2011 and they reside in London.
