CYBILL SHEPHERD BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Cybill Shepherd was born on February 18th, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee with the middle name Lynne. Her parents Patty and William Shepherd raised her. From a young age she loved to entertain and had a talented singing voice and a beautiful appearance.
She first became involved in the entertainment industry when she found work as a model as a young girl. She entered the "Miss Teenage Memphis" contest in 1966 and won the title and then two years later she won the "Model of the Year" title. After graduating in 1968 from, Memphis East High School in Tennessee she chose to pursue her career as a model.
Soon Shepherd was working as a fashion model and was seen on the cover of every fashion magazine. She was even hired by L'Oreal as their Spokesperson. It was not long before Hollywood began to take notice of her and soon she was being cast in such films as, "The Last Picture Show" (1971) followed by roles in, "The Heartbreak Kid" (1972), "Daisy Miller" (1974), "At Long Last Love" (1975) and "Taxi Driver" (1976).
Along with her film roles she also gave television acting a try adding appearances to her resume on such series as, "Fantasy Island" and "Moonlighting" also starring Bruce Willis for which she won two Golden Globe Awards for her performance.
She then appeared in her own series, "Cybill" (1995-1998) in a total of eighty seven episodes for which she also earned her third Golden Globe Award. Later Cybill also was given the chance to produce her own show.
Some of her more recent roles have been on the films, "Listen to Your Heart" (2010), "Another Harvest Moon" (2010) and the television series, "No Ordinary Family" (2010), "$#*! My Dad Says" (2010), "Psych" (2008-2010) and soon to release in 2012, "The Client List".
She has married twice throughout her lifetime. Her first husband was David M. Ford whom she wed in 1978 and after having one child this marriage came to an end in 1982. She then married Bruce Oppenheim in 1987 and had two more children before this marriage also ended in 1990. She has not re-married since and along with her acting career she remains active for issues such as gay rights and abortion.
Other honors Cybill has received throughout her career in the industry was being inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame in 2006. Also a novel titled, "Texasville" authored by Larry McMurtry was dedicated to her.
