Christopher Walken ACTOR

Christopher Walken was born on March 31st, 1943 in Queens, New York with the first name Ronald.  His parents were Rosalie and Paul Walken and he had two brothers Kenneth and Glenn.  All three boys were influenced by their mother who had dreams of becoming an actress therefore, they all became involved in acting as a child actors.
Walken still graduated from High School and went on to study at Hofstra University on Long Island, however he did not earn his college degree.  Instead he went on to pursue career in entertainment beginning with becoming a dancer and he was involved in musical theatre.
Since he experience in television as a child actor as an adult he decided to return to those roots and began finding roles on stage as well as in films.  In 1953 he was cast in his first recurring role on, "The Wonderful John Acton" as the narrator of the show.
Soon other television appearances followed as, "The Guiding Light" (1954-1984), "Naked City" (1963) and "Hawaii Five-O" (1969).  Along with television roles he still would appear on stage in such productions as, "The Lion in Winter" (1966) and "The Rose Tattoo" for which he earned a Theatre World Award.  He also enjoyed doing Shakespeare roles and was in such plays as, "Hamlet", "Macbeth", "Romeo and Juliet" and "Coriolanus".
It was in the mid 60's that he changed his name from Ronald to Christopher and from there on out he has been billed under the name Christopher.  Along with television and stage credits on his resume he appeared in a number of films.  Some of his earlier film roles were in, "Me and My Brother" (1969), "The Anderson Tapes" (1971), "Annie Hall" (1977) starring Woody Allen and Diane Keaton and became quite popular when he won an Oscar for his role in, "The Deer Hunter" (1978) starring alongside Robert De Niro.
He has never been type cast to play one type of role throughout his career.  He has shown his diverse talents and does just as well in a comedic role as in a dramatic more serious character role.  Some of his other film credits that he has added to his resume over the years are, "Pennies From Heaven" (1981), "The Dead Zone" (1983), "A View to a Kill" (1985), "Wayne's World 2" (1993), "Joe Dirt" (2001), "America's Sweethearts" (2001) and "Catch Me if You Can" (2002) starring Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Christopher has appeared in over 100 films throughout his career and has yet to slow down with some of his latest roles being on, "Dark Horse" (2011), "The Power of Few" (2011), "Gods Behaving Badly" (2012) and soon to release in 2013, "Freezing People Is Easy" and "A Girl and a Gun".
He also returned back to his love of performing in the theatre in 2010 with a role on Broadway's, "A Behanding in Spokane" for which he received a Tony Award nomination.  He has been a host on Saturday Night Live numerous times.
He has married only once throughout his lifetime to Georgianne Walken whom he wed in 1969 and remains married to today.  Along with his successful career as an actor, he has also been given the opportunity to work as a director and script writer on such films as, "Popcorn Shrimp" (2001) and "Him" (1995).  He also co-produced "New Rose Hotel" in 1998.
Walken currently resides in Wilton, Connecticut with his wife and they have no children.  They also own a vacation home in Rhode Island.  Christopher Walken continues to work in the industry and seldom turns down a role unless he is just too busy to take on any additional projects.  He does not own a cell phone nor does he own a computer.
