CHRISTINA APPLEGATE BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Christina Applegate was born on November 25th, 1971 in Hollywood, California, born to parents, Robert W. Applegate who worked as a producer and an executive for a record company and Nancy Lee Priddy, who was a professional singer and actress. Not to long after she was born her parents divorced and she lived with her mother.
Applegate would accompany her mother on a number of auditions and she had her first experience in front of the camera at only five months old when she appeared on a commercial for Playtex. She also appeared on the soap opera, "Days of Our Lives".
Other appearances as a child actress were in, "Jaws of Satan" (1979), "Beatlemania" (1981), "Grace Kelly" (1983) and "Washingtoon" (1985), "Father Murphy" (1981), "Charles in Charge" (1984-1985), "Silver Spoons" (1986) and "Leave it to Beaver" (1985-1986).
As Christina got older she was cast in her most prominent role in the television hit series, "Married With Children" (1987), playing Kelly Bundy for a total of ten years. Other television roles that followed were, "Dance til Dawn" (1988), "Streets" (1990), "21 Jump Street" (1988), "MADtv" (1996) and another huge role in the television series, "Jesse" (1998) for which she won a People's Choice Award for Favorite Female Performer in a New TV series and the TV Guide Award for Star of a New Series as well as a nomination at the Golden Globe Awards for Lead Actress in a Comedy.
Along with working as a television actress, Applegate also starred in a variety of films such as, "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead" (1991), "The Big Hit" (1998), "Jane Austen's Mafia" (1998), "The Sweetest Thing" (2002), "Anchorman" (2004), "Farce of the Penguins" (2006), "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squekguel" (2009) and "Hall Pass" (2011).
She has made sure to share her acting talents not only on film and television but also as a stage actress. Applegate has starred in such productions as, "The Axeman's Jazz", "Nobody Leaves Empty Handed", "The Runthrough" and "The Third Day".
Applegate is also involved in a number of charitable contributions and organizations such as supporting the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and in 2003 she was the spokesperson for the Lee National Denim Day which raised millions of dollars to assist in breast cancer research and education. Also, in 2009, Applegate founded Right Action for Women, a charitable foundation dedicated to breast cancer screening for women.
Throughout her career she has received a number of awards and honors such as being chosen by People's magazine as, "50 Most Beautiful People" in 1999. She also won a 2005 Theatre World Award and was nominated for a Tony Award and Drama Desk Award in 2005 for her performance in the stage musical, "Sweet Charity".
Christina Applegate has only married once to Johnathon Schaech whom she wed in 2001 and divorced in 2007. She is currently living with her fiancé, Martyn LeNoble and they have had their first child together, daughter, Sadie Grace.
In 2008, Applegate was diagnosed with breast cancer, but after undergoing a double mastectomy she has made a full recovery. Applegate currently resides in Los Angeles, California and her latest role is appearing on the television series, "Up All Night" (2011) which airs on NBC.
