Charles McGraw ACTOR


Charles McGraw was born on May 10th, 1914 in Des Moines, Iowa with the birth name Charles Butters.  He first became involved in acting in 1942 making his film debut in a small uncredited role.  Soon his career took off playing dozens of characters on a number of television series and films.
His first real starring role was in 1955 in the television version of, "Casablanca" (1955) which aired on ABC.  He also added a number of film roles to his resume such as, "The Narrow Margin" (1952), "Armored Car Robbery" (1950), "Spartacus" (1960), "The Bridges at Toko-Ri" (1954) and "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World' (1963). 
His latest appearances were in, "A Boy and His Dog' (1975) and "Twilights Last Gleaming" (1977).  McGraw was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
McGraw married only once to Freda Choy Kitt in 1938 and they had one child together before the marriage ended in a divorce in 1967.  He did not marry again and on July 30th, 1980, McGraw passed away at the age of sixty six in Studio City, California after he fell through a shower glass door.
