CECIL PARKER BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Cecil Parker was born on September 3rd, 1897 in Hastings, England with the birth name Cecil Schwabe. After a brief stint in the military where he served during World War I he began to pursue a career as an actor.
He began with performing as a stage performer in 1922 and after gaining some more experience in England and Ireland, he began to break into the film industry appearing on such films as, Alfred Hitchcock's "The Lady Vanishes" (1938) starring Margaret Lockwood, Michael Redgrave, Paul Lukas, Dame May Whitty, Linden Travers, Naunton Wayne, Basil Radford, Mary Clare, Googie Withers, Catherine Lacey and Sally Stewart, "The Citadel" (1938) starring Robert Donat, Rosalind Russell, Ralph Richardson, Rex Harrison, Emlyn Williams, Penelope Dudley Ward and Mary Clare, "The Stars Look Down" (1940) starring Michael Redgrave, Emlyn Williams, Margaret Lockwood and Nancy Price, "Captain Boycott" (1947) co-starring Stewart Granger, Kathleen Ryan and Alastair Sim, "The Weaker Sex" (1948) with Ursula Jeans, "The Amazing Mr. Beecham" (1949) with A.E. Williams and David Tomlinson, another Alfred Hitchcock classic, "Under Capricorn" (1949) starring Alongside Ingrid Bergman, Joseph Cotten, Michael Wilding and Margaret Leighton and "The Man in the White Suit" (1951) co-starring Alec Guinness and Joan Greenwood and "The Court Jester" (1956) musical-comedy film starring Danny Kaye, Glynis Johns, Basil Rathbone, Angela Lansbury, Alan Napier, Robert Middleton, John Carradine and Mildred Natwick.
As his career progressed other film roles included, "The Detective" (1954) starring Walter Connolly, Paul Lukas, Peter Finch, Alec Guinness, Bernard Lee and Gertrude Michael, "The Ladykillers" (1955) co-starring Alec Guinness, Herbert Lom, Peter Sellers, Danny Green, Jack Warner and Katie Johnson, "The Pure Hell of St. Trinian's" (1960) starring with Joyce Grenfell, George Cole, Eric Barker and Thorley Walters and "Carry on Jack" (1963) also starring Kenneth Williams, Bernard Cribbins, Charles Hawtrey, Donald Houston and Juliet Mills.
He also appeared occasionally on television on such series as, "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "Make Room for Daddy", "The Saints", "The Avengers" and "Sherlock Holmes".
Cecil Parker married only once in 1927 to Muriel Ann Randall Brown and they had one child together and stayed married until he passed away on April 20th, 1971 in East Sussex in England.
