CATHERINE ZETA-JONES BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Catherine Zeta-Jones was born on September 25th, 1969 in Swansea, Wales in the United Kingdom. Her parents are Dai and pat Jones and she has two brothers. She received her formal education at Dumbarton House School and also excelled as a singer and dancer.
From a young age she developed an interest in the entertainment industry and was appearing in such stage productions as, "Annie" and "Bugsy Malone". By the age of fifteen she was being cast in lead roles for such productions as, "42nd Street". She never completed school as she left early to pursue a career as an actress.
By the early 90's she began being cast in television with her first real role on, "The Darling Buds of May" (1991). Her popularity began to increase and it did not take long for her to be seen on the big screen in such films as, "Christopher Columbus: The Discovery" (1992), "Catherine the Great" (1996), "The Phantom" (1996) and "The Mask of Zorro" (1998) which was her real break into stardom. For this role she won the Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Female Newcomer as well as receiving an Empire Award nomination for Best British Actress.
Soon other leading lady roles followed such as, "Entrapment" (1999), "The Haunting" (1999). "Traffic" (2000) and "Chicago" (2002) for which she earned an Academy Award, BAFTA Award as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Along with her film roles she added voice over work to her resume for the animated film, "Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas" (2003). She is also a spokesperson for Elizabeth Arden cosmetics and Di Modolo jewelry.
Jones has married only one time to actor, Michael Douglas whom she wed in 2000 and together they have two children and remain married today. Although married and a mother of two, she remains working in the industry with some of her latest roles on such films as, "Intolerable Cruelty" (2003), "Ocean's Twelve" (2004), "The Legend of Zorro" (2005), "Death Defying Acts" (2008) and "A Little Night Music" (2010) for which Jones won a Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical as well as an Outer Critics Circle Award and Drama Desk Award.
Catherine was chosen in 1998 by People's magazine as, "1998's Most Beautiful People" and was ranked #50 on VHI's, "100 Hottest Hotties". She also owns a production company, Milkwood Films. Her and her husband's net worth are said to be estimated as of 2009 at $278 million.
