BRENDA VACCARO BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Brenda Vaccaro was born on November 18th, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York to parents, Christine M. and Mario A. Vaccaro and raised in Dallas Texas.  Her parents were the co-founders of Mario Restaurant.  After she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, Vaccaro relocated back to New York where she enrolled at the Neighborhood Playhouse. 
 
Soon she found work as a stage actress on Broadway appearing in the comedy, "Everybody Loves Opal" (1961) for which she won a Theatre Globe Award.  Other Broadway roles soon followed in such productions as, "The Affair" (1962), "Cactus Flower" (1965), "How Now, Dow Jones" (1967), "The Goodbye People" (1968) and "The Odd Couple" (1985).
 
Along with her many credits as a stage actress, Vaccaro also made a name for herself on the big screen appearing in such films as, "Death Weekend" (1976), "Airport 77" (1977), "Capricorn One" (1978), "The Pride of Jesse Hallam" (1981), "Supergirl" (1984), "Heart of Midnight" (1988) and  "The Mirror Has Two Faces" (1996),
 
She is well known for her roles in the films, "Midnight Cowboy" (1969) where she earned a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress followed by an Academy Award nomination for her role in the film, "Once is Not Enough" (1975).    
 
Adding to her long resume of film and stage credits was also a number of television appearances in such series as, "Paper Dolls", "The Fugitive", "The Love Boat", "Murder, She Wrote", "The Golden Girls", "Friends", "Touched By an Angel", "The King of Queens" and "Nip/Tuck".
 
Brenda Vaccaro has also worked in commercials for such products as Playtex and has done voice over work for the animated cartoon series, "Johnny Bravo". 
 
Vaccaro's last television appearance was in 2010 on, "You Don't Know Jack".  She remains married to her fourth husband, Guy Hector whom she wed in 1986.  Prior to this marriage her first husband was Martin Fried from 1965 through 1970.  She then married William Bishop in 1977 but divorced just one year later.  Husband number three was Charles Cannizzarao whom she was also only married to for one year.
