BEN AFFLECK BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Ben Affleck was born on August 15th, 1972 in Berkeley, California with the birth name Benjamin Geza Affleck-Boldt to parents Tim and Chris Affleck. His family raised him and his younger brother, Casey, who also became an actor in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
From early childhood, Affleck always had dreams of becoming an actor and in 1984 he had the chance to appear on a PBS mini series, "The Voyage of the Mimi" (1984). As a teenage boy he was already acting on such television series as, "Hands of a Stranger" (1987) and "The Second Voyage of the Mimi" (1988).
He also during his childhood became friends with Matt Damon another famous actor and the two boys have maintained a life long friendship ever since they played little league together and took drama classes together. He graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School in 1990 and went to college for a semester at the University of Vermont.
Transitioning from child acting experiences into working as an adult actor was not a challenge for Affleck. He appeared on such films as, "Dazed and Confused" (1993), "Mallrats" (1005) and "Chasing Amy" (1997). However as his career progressed he was living with his brother and best friend Matt Damon and he was not getting cast in substantial roles, therefore Damon and Affleck decided to write their own script and submit it to their agent. It was a film called, "Good Will Hunting" and it was accepted by Castlerock Studio's. However, since Castlerock would not let Damon and Affleck have much say in the way the film was to be done, their close friend Kevin Smith helped convince Miramax to buy the script and the two men were given the chance to have control in their creative ideas for this film.
The film was released in 1997 and finally both men got the attention from critics that they deserved. The film was nominated for a total of nine academy awards and won two of them. Finally, Affleck was being asked to play certain roles instead of going through the audition process over and over again for roles he did not even desire to get.
Some of his later and more decent film roles that followed after the success of this film were roles in, "Armageddon" (1998), "Shakespeare in Love" (1998) and "Pearl Harbor" (2001). His career has finally reached the level of stardom he has been trying to achieve for all these years. Some of his latest appearances will be seen soon on an untitled Terrence Malick Project set to come out in 2012 and "Argo" also set to release in 2012.
Ben Affleck remains married to actress, Jennifer Garner and they have two children together. He was chosen by People's magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World and in 2002 was named People Magazine's, "Sexiest Man Alive". He currently resides with his wife and two children in Pacific Palisades, California and the couple are expecting their third child.
