ANNE HATHAWAY BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Anne Hathaway was born on November 12th, 1982 in Brooklyn, New York City with the birth name Anne Jacqueline Hathaway. Her mother is Kathleen Anne McCauley, a former stage actress and her father, Gerald Thomas Hathaway is employed as an attorney.
At the age of six her parents and two siblings relocated to Milburn, New Jersey and Hathaway developed an interest in performing following in her mothers footsteps from a young age.
During high school, she participated in a number of school productions and garnished a Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Award nomination for Best Performance by a High School Actress. Hathaway also excelled as a soprano vocalist and performed with the Eastern High Honors Chorus at Carnegie Hall.
After high school she studied at New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study and at the same time began to pursue a career in the industry. Her first role was in 1999 on the television show, "Get Real".
Soon Hathaway was also working as a film actress adding such credits as, "The Princess Diaries" (2001) produced by singer and actress Whitney Houston and starring Heather Matarazzo, Julie Andrews, Hector Elizondo, Robert Schwartzman, Mandy Moore, Erik Von Detten, Caroline Goodall, Sean O'Bryan and Kathleen Marshall, "The Other Side of Heaven" (2001) starring with Christopher Gorham, "Nicholas Nickleby" (2002) also starring Charlie Hunnam, Christopher Plummer, Jim Broadbent, Jamie Bell, Alan Cumming and Timothy Spall among many others, "Ella Enchanted" (2004) with Hugh Dancy, Cary Elwes, Steve Coogan, Minnie Driver, Vivica A. As her career continued, she alternated between film and stage work adding another successful film role, "Brokeback Mountain" (2005) starring alongside Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal, Randy Quaid, Anna Faris, Linda Cardellini, Roberta Maxwell, Peter McRobbie, Kate Mara, David Harbour and Michelle Williams.
Other successful film roles included, "The Devil Wears Prada" (2006) starring Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Adrian Grenier, Simon Baker and Tracie Thoms, "Becoming Jane" (2007) with James McAvoy, Julie Walters, James Cromwell and Maggie Smith and "Rachel Getting Married" (2008) co-starring Rosemarie DeWitt, Bill Irwin, Anna Deavere Smith, Tunde Adebimpe and Debra Winger, a role for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress.

She also received an Emmy award for her role on, "The Simpsons" in 2010 for outstanding voice-over performance and also did voice over work for the television series, "Family Guy".
She remains working as a stage actress adding such production credits as, "Twelfth Night" and is also on top of her acting career involved with a variety of charitable causes such as, The Step Up Women's Network, The Creative Coalition, St. Jude Children's Hospital and The Human Rights Campaign.
As of September 29, 2012, she is married to Adam Shulman. She has received a number of honors during her career such as being named, One of People's Magazines Most Beautiful People in the World in 2010 and in 2011 she made the Ask Men top 99, "Most Desirable Women" list as well as voted on Maxim magazines "Hot 100" women's list.
